Pickling and Rinsing before Production of Hot Galvanized Sheet


hot-dip galvanized sheet is very strict, only in this way can we produce high-quality and qualified production.


1. Before preparing pickling solution, the acid pool must be washed clean. No rust, silt and other attachments are allowed to be stored in the pool.

2. The pickling solution is diluted hydrochloric acid, the working concentration is 40-200g/L solution, and the working temperature is normal temperature.

3. Preparation of pickling solution: Use industrial hydrochloric acid with a concentration of more than 28% and add water according to a ratio of 2: 1 to prepare pickling solution with a concentration of 200g/l. Generally, no acid is added during use until its concentration drops below 40/l. When the ferrous chloride content rises to 200g/l solution, the waste acid enters the neutralization tank for treatment, discharge after reaching the standard (the emission requirements shall be stipulated by the environmental protection department). If the content of ferrous chloride is less than 200g/L and the concentration of hydrochloric acid is less than 40g/L, concentrated hydrochloric acid can be appropriately added to continue to use.

4, pickling solution is tested twice a week, and the measurement results are reported to the workshop director of the hot galvanized sheet workshop to guide the pickling operator.

5. The pickling time shall be related to the oxide layer on the surface of the hot-dip galvanized sheet and the pickling concentration, generally 30-40 minutes. During the pickling process, the workpiece shall be moved up and down for two to three times, and the liquid level shall be proposed to check the pickling quality. The surface under pickling shall be removed by grinding wheel, wire brush and other tools before pickling, so as to ensure that the steel surface is free from residual oxide layer and other pollutants, the surface is gray luster.

6. Hot-dip galvanized sheet qualified for pickling must enter the rinsing process tank and be rinsed with running water to remove the residual pickling solution on the surface. After the plated part is lifted out of the rinsing tank, it shall stay on the tank for not less than 15 seconds. After the surface water is dropped, it shall immediately enter the plating aid tank for solvent treatment.

7. The rinsing water should be clear, keep flowing, keep clean, and the PH value should be greater than 6.
